Evangelism 101 - Evangelism Methods

Learn about the various methods used to share the gospel.

You can start sharing the gospel.

Sharing the gospel is about you talking, one-on-one with another person. These lessons show many of ways that can be used to share the gospel.

Each session features a video and a sort commentary. Some sessions have a music video associated with them and most have an optional video session. If a related book is available, a link to where the book can be purchased will be provided at the bottom of the page.

Always Be Based In Prayer: Right now, and before starting each session, please take a few moments for prayer.

The sessions will show you about a dozen methods that have been used to share the gospel. Feel free to combine parts of various methods to create an approach you feel comfortable using. You may also want to use different approaches in different situations.

HOWEVER...

There is a fundamental principle you should keep in mind: if a person does not understand what sin is, they will not recognize their need for a savior.

Our culture in America has changed over the past 30 years. God has been removed from the classroom and the public square. People no longer understand what the word "sin" means.

Go out and conduct a survey yourself. Ask 100 people to define the word sin. You'll find few people know that to sin means to disobey God... to break God's laws. And even fewer can name the Ten Commandments.

By the way, conducting a survey like this is an excellent way to start witnessing. People will ask you why you are asking this question. This opens the door to discussing the gospel. You can explain what you are doing, discuss the meaning of sin, talk about the penalty for sin, and share the good news gospel with them.

Why Share Your Faith? - This 45 minute message by Steve Hudgik answers the question: Does the Bible say everyone should be sharing the good news about Jesus Christ, or is it just church leaders and trained evangelists who need to be witnesses? Why should you share the gospel with others?
