Answering Tough Questions

You don't need to know all the answers.

What do you do if someone asks you a question you can't answer?

Start by saying, "I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to that."

If one of the team leaders is available, ask them to join you and possibly answer the question. Or you may know another volunteer in the booth who can answer the question.

If everyone is busy, ask if you can get someone to answer the question as soon as they are free, then ask a question that directs the conversation back toward the gospel.

If we have resources on the table that answer the question, give them a copy. For example, if they ask, "Do you really believe the earth is 6,000 years old?" Say, yes. Give them the "Age Of The Earth" DVD and say, "That's a good question. Would you like this DVD that gives an answer to that? We were talking about what happens after you die. You said you'll go to heaven? Why do you say that?"
